ParaScale & Alfresco Partner on Content-as-a-Service

It's supposed to save management overhead or cost

ParaScale, the startup developing cloud storage solutions, and Alfresco Software, the open source ECM house, announced a cloud-based integrated ECM solution co-locating Alfresco Content Management and ParaScale Cloud Storage software on the same hardware.

It's supposed to save management overhead or cost; offer simple configuration and setup; and ensure high-performance and easy scale-out.

ParaScale's storage nodes are standard Linux servers that run qualified apps, and any node in the cloud can serve requests for data.

The ParaScale cloud also supports policy-based replication to ensure high availability for content access, which is supposed to make the Alfresco ECM solution extremely reliable by ensuring users can still access documents from an available copy if parts of the cloud are unavailable.

The integrated widgetry is available immediately. Customers can download a free 4TB cloud from the ParaScale web site and integrate the free 30-day Alfresco trial software with it.
