Citrix Updates XenServer

Update includes centralized multi-node management and built-in storage

Citrix' free XenServer 5.5 is available for unlimited production deployment.

Since Citrix set XenServer free two-and-a-half months ago, it says there have been 100,000 downloads.

The update includes centralized multi-node management, built-in storage, full live motion, consolidated backup, enhanced conversion and search tools.

It has Active Directory integration and expanded guest support for virtually every version of Windows and Linux operating systems.

It's supposed to address 75% of servers that still haven't been virtualized. Citrix figures it'll save users up to $5,000 a server compared to the competition.
