MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., June 28 /PRNewswire/ -- HyperRoll, a leading provider of high-performance data aggregation software for business intelligence (BI) applications, today announced the release of HyperRoll 4.2, the latest version of its patented BI acceleration technology. HyperRoll 4.2 includes support for additional databases and new database versions, as well as support for Linux. Enhancements to the underlying technology also give users of HyperRoll 4.2 a substantial boost in both speed and scalability.
HyperRoll uses ultra-efficient data aggregation algorithms to deliver immediate and substantial improvements in business intelligence performance. With version 4.2, HyperRoll technology is now compatible with the following environments:
-- IBM DB2 7.1, 8.1, and 8.2 -- Microsoft SQLServer 2000 -- Oracle 10G -- IBM DB2 OLAP 8.2 -- Linux Redhat 2.3 and 3.0 -- Windows 2003
HyperRoll 4.2 also includes new query and aggregation algorithms that provide significant improvements in both speed and scalability. These performance improvements will enable HyperRoll to address larger, more complex BI implementations. Existing HyperRoll customers who upgrade to HyperRoll 4.2 will cut query times by half or more, and realize up to an additional 10x reduction in storage requirements.
"HyperRoll's product strategy is focused on three key elements: maintaining performance leadership, reducing customer operating costs, and expanding HyperRoll's addressable market, all of which we've achieved with HyperRoll 4.2," said Michael Bealmear, chief executive officer of HyperRoll. "HyperRoll 4.2 also delivers on our commitment to provide our install base with regular upgrades that offer real performance enhancements and address their evolving technical environments, while protecting their investment in HyperRoll technology."
HyperRoll today also announced a partnership with Cognos, the world leader in business intelligence and corporate performance management (CPM). The partnership pairs Cognos' ReportNet(TM), the first completely Web-based enterprise reporting solution, with HyperRoll's aggregation technology, to dramatically accelerate enterprise reporting.
"Organizations continue to look for methods to improve performance of their BI deployments," said Mark Smith, SVP & CEO of Ventana Research. "To address these needs HyperRoll has extended their technology to support a broader range of platform, databases and BI technology."
"With HyperRoll 4.2 and our partnership with Cognos, the company continues to deliver on the goal of making high-speed data access and analysis available to the widest range of business users," added Bealmear. "HyperRoll can now be used to accelerate many of today's leading business intelligence applications -- running on a number of platforms -- and we continue to develop support for more applications and databases. Combined with our new product packaging and licensing options that make HyperRoll affordable for department-level or small initial enterprise implementations, today's news represents a substantial increase in the addressable market for HyperRoll's technology."
