WILLIAMSBURG, Va. and FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Aug. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- DataCore Software, a leading provider of storage virtualization, business continuity and disaster recovery software solutions, today announced that Endurance Network Services, a network services integrator specializing in virtualization infrastructure, storage virtualization and high-end operating system integration, has realized great success in backing its clients' virtualized IT environments with DataCore's storage virtualization software solutions. New customers for Endurance Network Services that are all leveraging shared storage from DataCore in a virtualized IT environment include: City of Newport News Waterworks; Dominion Terminals; The Givens Group; Hanbury Evans Wright Vlattas + Company; Lindab; Norfolk Academy; S.L. Nusbaum Realty Company; Wall, Einhorn & Chernitzer (WEC), and more. Longstanding, existing accounts that Endurance Network Services supports include Canon ITS, the City of Newport News, and the City of Virginia Beach, among others.

Client success through shared, network storage

The Givens Group (http://www.givens.com/) comprises integrated logistics companies that offer a full range of distribution centers, transportation, and third party logistics services. The company specializes in the demanding requirements of mass merchandise, automotive and electronics distribution.

"When we made the decision to implement a disaster recovery plan, the DataCore SANmelody solution was a cost-effective method of providing a storage array for our virtual server farm," stated George L. Corbus, manager of information systems, The Givens Group. "Implementation was simple and the product is robust in performance."

Customer spotlight: a virtualized IT environments based on a radically simple, high availability storage virtualization solution

Using DataCore's SANmelody(TM) storage virtualization software solution, Endurance Network Services has enabled the architecture and planning firm Hanbury Evans Wright Vlattas + Company (http://www.hewv.com/) to deploy a redundant SAN for significantly less cost than other vendor solutions. In replacing an older iSCSI SAN, Hanbury Evans Wright Vlattas + Company was looking for more speed for its users and therefore decided on Fibre Channel technology for its new equipment. In the past, the firm had redundancy along the server line through VMware but its SAN was a single point of failure, which needed to be addressed in the new SAN. The firm was not interested in a more traditional approach of a turnkey, hardware SAN solution due to the fact that this older technology used older processors.

"We had looked at DataCore several years ago and now their products were just what we needed to address our new SAN requirements," commented Michael Sleeman, director of technology, Hanbury Evans Wright Vlattas + Company. "With DataCore we could buy the latest HP servers and run SANmelody on them to give us both the high speed we needed for our users' data storage needs, along with the redundancy IT was looking for to eliminate that point of failure in our Norfolk, Virginia headquarters. In addition, DataCore had a solution for us to reuse our old SAN equipment for a Disaster Recovery network to be placed in one of our branch offices as a backup - in case we lost our main facility for some reason. So far, the new DataCore SAN has performed very well - with no issues - and the speed improvements have been significant."

For this firm of architects, the ability to do maintenance is now seamless and requires no downtime - delivering a tremendous productivity benefit for the firm. Now VMotion combined with SANmelody allows the IT staff to work while end users are still working and neither group is affected. The disaster recovery phase of the project is scheduled to come online in late September.

High-value, best-of breed solutions

Servicing southeastern Virginia (from Williamsburg down to the Outer Banks of North Carolina), the team at Endurance Network Services has been working together for twelve years and each member has between 15 and 20 years' experience in providing network integration services. Something that sets Endurance Network Services apart as a DataCore reseller is that it only resells DataCore. The network services integration firm does not resell any other software, or for that matter hardware, products.

The way Endurance Network Services President Blake White justifies DataCore being the one software product that the firm does resell is simple - it is the bedrock of any storage virtualization project for this integrator and DataCore solutions always justify themselves by way of total cost of ownership.

"The total cost for our clients of using DataCore is routinely much less than traditional storage solutions," commented White. "We fundamentally sought DataCore out because our firm is always looking for best-of-breed solutions that can bring real value to our clients. We constantly try to uncover unique solutions and unique approaches that drive down our clients' total spend on hardware and software."
