"Our reach is now global and to achieve our goals we've tapped an experienced finance executive to help us fulfill our mission," said Stuart Cohen (pictured), CEO of the Open Source Development Labs consortium, as OSDL - home to Linus Torvalds - last week announced the appointment of Mike Temple to the position of Chief Financial Officer.

"Mike has been successful in finance internationally and in high tech and his background is just what we need to take OSDL to the next level," Cohen added.

"I look forward to working with OSDL and its members and I'm excited to contribute to their mission of accelerating the adoption of Linux in the enterprise," Temple said.

Temple brings more than 25 years experience in finance and operations to the OSDL executive team, including 15 years in CFO and general management roles and 10 years in public accounting practice. His naming to this new OSDL executive position follows the recent appointment of OSDL's director of Europe, Middle East and Africa. The appointments represent OSDL's ongoing development of its global leadership team.

The member roster of OSDL now lists 75 companies - Google's there, so are Sun, HP, IBM, Intel, CA, Ericsson, Red Hat, SpikeSource, Black Duck, ActiveGrid, Aduva...it's an incredible lineup. All kudos to them.
