Arkeia was the first company to offer a professional network backup solution for the Linux platform, and is now the world's leading vendor of backup and recovery solutions for Linux-based environments.
The move comes only days after LinuxIT announced the set-up of its pan-European operation LinuxIT Europe, and further confirms the company's commitment to offering its European customers a complete range of Linux based solutions and services.
Dominique Audoin, Arkeia's Regional Sales Manager, commented: "Arkeia recognizes LinuxIT as one of the leading providers of Linux solutions in Europe, and we are very pleased to be partnering with the company. A loyal and targeted channel network is the best way to maintain our leadership in the Linux data protection market, and LinuxIT is a trustworthy partner that has the relevant expertise and experience in the market, and that understands what is needed to fulfill customers' needs."
Peter Dawes Huish, Chief Executive Officer of LinuxIT, added: "Industry analysts advise that 50% of businesses that lose their data go out of business almost immediately. And of the other 50%, nine out of ten fail within two years. Our customers need a complete backup and recovery solution line, and after rigorous evaluation of a number of providers we have decided to partner with Arkeia. The company impressed us with their extensive portfolio, the ease of use of their solutions, and their professionalism. Partnering enables us to deliver exactly the features that our customers need to successfully deploy back up and recovery software, and to protect their most valuable assets - their data."
