WESTPORT, Conn., March 19 /PRNewswire/ -- More than 100 Houston Area CIOs and executives gathered March 3 to discuss organizational transformation and transformational leadership during the invitation-only CIO Executive Leadership Roundtable held at the Houstonian Hotel. The event, produced by HMG Strategy, LLC, provided a high-level, private venue for sharing critical knowledge, exploring new strategies, and envisioning new revenue streams through innovative use of information technology.
"I'm proud to have been a part of this exceptional event," said Paul Yust, VP & CIO, BJ Services Company. "The caliber and candor of the speakers was second-to-none and the attendees gathered a great deal of usable information." The Houston Chapter of SIM (Society for Information Management) also participated as an Association Partner of the event.
First Keynote Speaker Roger Berry, SVP and CIO, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, shared stories of transformation from his experience at Disney, where he guided the transformation to a personalized, technology-based system for managing relationships with more than 3 million guests daily across multiple Disney properties.
Second Keynote Speaker Jay Crotts, VP IT Services, Shell Information Technology International, shared his views on "outside-in" leadership - building a leadership foundation based on how the business perceives and values IT, instead of on how IT perceives and values itself.
Additional presenters included Dave Cummings, VP & CIO of Univar, Inc.; Mark Settle, CIO, of BMC Software, Inc.; Roberta Kowalishin, VP Web Technology & CIO, of the Houston Chronicle; Delaney Bellinger, CIO, YUM! Brands, Inc.; Mike Dreiling VP & CIO, of Friedkin Companies; Greg Percival, VP IT, W&T Offshore, Inc.; and Mark Bouzek, CIO, BP Exploration & Production.
"The response has been overwhelmingly positive," said Hunter Muller, President and CEO, HMG Strategy.
HMG Strategy events are sponsored by leading global organizations including McAfee, Polycom, Salesforce, Verizonbusiness, CA, Compuware, Digital Realty Trust, FusionStorm, Red Hat, Rackspace, Acme Business Consulting, CIBER, and Hexaware Technologies.
