"This is a revolutionary change in the way services, applications and media is delivered," said Jeffrey Harrell, president and CEO of Video Without Boundaries. "Current and future MediaREADY owners will now have access to the most popular applications and services available online in their living rooms and from the comfort of their couch."
The MediaREADY 4000 and MediaREADY 5000 products already include popular TV-centric applications like Personal Video Recording, DVD/MPEG-1, 2, 4/CD/MP3 recording and playback, electronic program guide, Internet browsing, email, and karaoke. All MediaREADY products also support broadband Internet and wired/wireless home network connections and offer a durable Linux operating platform, easy software/hardware upgrades, and exclusive downloadable content from a wide range of entertainment providers.
The combination of popular applications such as AOL Optimized 9.0 to the MediaREADY platform bridges the gap between the ever-evolving online service environment and the consumer's interaction with it. AOL is now providing more video, music, and all around entertainment choices on the Internet and now the VWB MediaREADY products bring that excitement and access to the television and home stereo in the home. The Internet is changing; the kinds of content and services that are accessed are becoming more media and communication focused. VWB is pushing the boundaries on enabling complete home access to this expanding world of content and services.
