BROOMFIELD, Colo., Jan. 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Sirenza Microdevices, Inc. announced that Christopher Crespi has been appointed to the company's Board of Directors, effective January 19, 2006. Also on January 19, 2006, director Peter Chung announced his resignation from Sirenza's Board of Directors effective as of April 1, 2006, in order to devote more time to his duties as a managing partner of Summit Partners. Mr. Crespi will replace Mr. Chung on the company's Nominating and Audit Committees once his resignation becomes effective. Each committee and a majority of the Board will continue to consist of independent, non-employee directors following these changes.

Chung has served on the company's board since October 1999. He is also a member of the Audit and Nominating Committees.
"We welcome the addition of Chris Crespi to Sirenza's Board of Directors," stated John Ocampo, Sirenza's Chairman of the Board. "He brings a wealth of telecommunications, investment and financing experience to the company."
"We would also like to thank Peter Chung for his valuable contributions to Sirenza's board and, in particular, his support of the transition of Sirenza from a private to a public company with our initial public offering in May 2000," added Ocampo. "He has been an outstanding independent director, and we wish him every success with his future endeavors."
