CLEARWATER, Fla., Feb. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- The daughter of the inventor of instant replay, which revolutionized sports television, has launched a site to help inventors, businesses and entrepreneurs gain exposure for their great ideas that would otherwise not be acted upon. Laura Betterly, who watched her father invent and then first place instant replay equipment at horse tracks in New York state, realized that tens of thousands of ideas which could change the world weren't being acted on by the people who thought them up.
Betterly, using a state of the art Internet tool called a "tag cloud," will showcase up to 10,000 of the world's best ideas on her site aptly named TenThousandBrightIdeas.com (http://www.tenthousandbrightideas.com/). "In the last twelve months I have noticed some great ideas like MillionDollarHomePage.com come out of nowhere, because of the Internet and hit it big," says Betterly. "That idea, which made college student Alex Tew $1,000,000 in just 5 months, would have been dead on arrival even ten short years ago."
Betterly, who is also the CEO of a top-rated search engine based Internet marketing firm, In Touch Media Group (BULLETIN BOARD: ITOU.OB) , will be attracting thousands of venture capitalists, angel investors, manufacturers and businesses through search engine advertising and a unique Internet publicity tool that her company has recently perfected. "I want all of these great ideas to get in front of the people, funds and companies who will see their value and help monetize them," states Betterly. "We are trying to accelerate the process of discovery and bring about innovation on a grand scale."
Betterly will also drive hundreds of thousands of consumers to the site so that they can "judge" or vote on the ideas presented at TenThousandBrightIdeas.com. This provides a type of instant feedback for both the creators of the ideas and their prospect suitors. "We test drove the tag cloud concept during our beta phase and the response was amazing," Betterly said. "The comments, which we call judgments, were very constructive and the tag cloud itself gave us an instant real time picture about the popularity of each of the ideas."
Advertisers who acquire tags will be featured on the site for a full twelve months. Each week the most popular idea of the week, according to the consumers who cast votes on the site, will be showcased in a special section within TenThousandBrightIdeas.com. "This site is a tremendous value for anybody looking to turn their bright ideas into reality," believes Betterly. "We are keeping the tag price very affordable so anyone can benefit from the site."
Betterly will be announcing a series of events in the near future to showcase TenThousandBrightIdeas.com, along with some of the best ideas found on the site. Betterly has also brought in a national publicist to organize the tour.
