ROMFORD, UNITED KINGDOM -- (Marketwire) -- 06/15/11 -- Neopost, the UK's leading provider of mailroom equipment, including franking machines and automatic envelope stuffers, today announces how customers can benefit from even greater Royal Mail postal discounts.
The postal market was opened to competition in 2004, allowing the entry of alternative carriers such as TNT Post and UK Mail, often referred to as Downstream Access providers (DSA's). Royal Mail has remained responsible for the so-called 'final mile' deliveries to 28 million addressees - in fact Royal Mail delivers 99% of all letters in the UK. Some DSA's have responded to recent changes in terms for final mile deliveries by increasing their prices, in some cases by more than 20%.
At the same time, prices for Royal Mail's Cleanmail Advance product, (CMA) have become more attractive. Cleanmail Advance is an unsorted business letters product from Royal Mail which can save users from 16% off franked mail postage costs per letter. CMA can be used with both 1st and 2nd Class letters to provide significant savings for small to medium businesses, and is available for batches as few as 500 letters. These tariffs are competitive with alternative carriers and are backed by Royal Mail's independently audited quality of service commitments.
Further, Royal Mail's volume related discounts have become more attractive. Beginning at 1000 letters, these discounts save a further 1.5% to 7.5% on the cost of postage. Combined, CMA and volume related discounts mean that businesses which send between 500 and 25,000 letters per mailing can save a further 16% to 23.5% off the cost of franked mail.
In addition to an attractive volume discount proposition, users of CMA through a franking machine benefit from the process efficiency of having a single solution and provider for all mail classes and types of mail - CMA discounts are available on 1st and 2nd class inland letter mail, while DSA's offer limited services.
With the lower volume break, more franking machine users will have the opportunity to save money on their postage as the discounts can easily be accessed through Neopost's SMART franking machine range(i), providing an advanced yet cost effective, reliable and affordable mailing solution.
Neopost's leading IS range of SMART franking machines have the ability to utilise CMA and contain the very latest smart technology to meet the mailroom needs of small to medium-sized businesses. The modular design of IS franking machines delivers maximum mailroom efficiency and the flexibility to adapt to future needs. LAN connectivity ensures postal rate change updates are easily handled, while postage re-crediting and system upgrades happen almost instantaneously. Advanced software ensures changes in Royal Mail services and pricing, such as VAT are easily handled.
Neopost are experts in the mailing industry and are an approved partner of Royal Mail. If you would like a no obligation free mail audit to determine if Neopost can help your business save money on postage costs, or would like to find out more about CMA and SMART franking machines, please visit: www.neopost.co.uk/franking-machines/bulk-mail-discounts

More and more brands have jumped on the IoT bandwagon. We have an excess of wearables – activity trackers, smartwatches, smart glasses and sneakers, and more that track seemingly endless datapoints. However, most consumers have no idea what “IoT” means. Creating more wearables that track data shouldn't be the aim of brands; delivering meaningful, tangible relevance to their users should be. We're in a period in which the IoT pendulum is still swinging. Initially, it swung toward "smart for smar...

Complete Internet of Things (IoT) embedded device security is not just about the device but involves the entire product’s identity, data and control integrity, and services traversing the cloud. A device can no longer be looked at as an island; it is a part of a system. In fact, given the cross-domain interactions enabled by IoT it could be a part of many systems. Also, depending on where the device is deployed, for example, in the office building versus a factory floor or oil field, security ha...

What happens when the different parts of a vehicle become smarter than the vehicle itself? As we move toward the era of smart everything, hundreds of entities in a vehicle that communicate with each other, the vehicle and external systems create a need for identity orchestration so that all entities work as a conglomerate. Much like an orchestra without a conductor, without the ability to secure, control, and connect the link between a vehicle’s head unit, devices, and systems and to manage the ...

Web Real-Time Communication APIs have quickly revolutionized what browsers are capable of. In addition to video and audio streams, we can now bi-directionally send arbitrary data over WebRTC's PeerConnection Data Channels. With the advent of Progressive Web Apps and new hardware APIs such as WebBluetooh and WebUSB, we can finally enable users to stitch together the Internet of Things directly from their browsers while communicating privately and securely in a decentralized way.
