Nonprofit organization Grassroots announced on Friday that it is offering a free domain name for one year to its new and existing nonprofit clients.
Nonprofit organizations can register a new domain name or transfer their existing name through the promotion, which is made possible through a new partnership with domain registrar Moniker (moniker.com).
"Free domain names are the first step for nonprofits and charities who want to use Grassroots.org's tools and services, which include Web site design and development, online advocacy tools, issue promotion and more," says Grassroots president Jim Ward.
Customers can receive the free domain name, along with free Web hosting and Web design, by filling out an application form on the Grassroots' Web site. They must also submit proof of the organization's nonprofit status with their applications.
