These one day sessions have been designed to introduce Linux to both entry level or experienced network administrators and to IT professionals curious about adding Linux servers to a network, replacing proprietary servers in a network or managing Linux servers and performing standard network tasks easily.
SUSE Linux is one of the most stable and secure Linux network environments available today or any size company-small to enterprise. SUSE Linux is also the only distribution maintained by a billion-dollar worldwide organization with more than 800 Linux-trained engineers and consultants and a rich history of professional IT Training and Certification.
N3066 Course introduces students to SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 9. The class compares the SUSE Linux 10.0 (desktop) and SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 9 (server) products from Novell and addresses the basic differences between managing Windows and Linux servers. Following this high-level introduction, students install SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 9 on their own hardware and learn how to obtain support for their installations.
The course finishes with instruction on using the YaST management utility, unique to SUSE Linux, which simplifies standard tasks such as managing user and group accounts, installing and configuring printers, installing Linux software packages and accessing system updates and security fixes.
The one-day workshop is available at £50.
Delegates who want the free download should bring Hardware that meets the basic system requirements for an installation of SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 9 (256 MB RAM, 500 MB hard-disk space for software and 500 MB hard-disk space for user data).
