IBM and AT&T are teaming up to deliver new cloud services over private networks, according to this ComputerWorld article. As part of the new offering, customers will have access to IBM’s cloud resources over AT&T’s virtual private network, which the companies claim will result in improved security.

A recent survey reveals that companies are seeing mostly positive results from adopting cloud technology, according to this Forbes.com article. The Navint Partners report which showcased the results of a Fortune 500 roundtable survey of 20 CIOs, reveals that those companies are achieving the expected cost savings, efficiency and competitive advantage benefits.

Amazon announced this week that they’ve seen a rapid rise in cloud adoption from government agencies and educational institutions, according to this InformationWeek article. More than 1,500 educational institutions and 300 government agencies are using Amazon Web Services.

The European Commission says that cloud computing could generate 2.5 million jobs within the European Union and result in an extra 583 billion euros between 2015 and 2020, according to this CNBC article.
