El sistema de agrupación NAS Huawei OceanStor N8500 consigue un rendimiento óptimo en un test SPEC

SHENZHEN, China, 5 de noviembre de 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Huawei, un destacado proveedor de soluciones de información mundiales y de tecnología de comunicaciones (ICT), anunció hoy que su sistema de almacenamiento adjunto de red (NAS) agrupado OceanStor N8500 ha conseguido un rendimiento óptimo en el test SPECsfs2008 de Standard Performance Evaluation Corporation (SPEC), encabezando el récord industrial en relación a las comparaciones NFS. Es la tercera vez que Huawei ha conseguido el mejor resultado en las pruebas de comparación realizadas por SPEC, una agencia de evaluación del rendimiento estándar, tras sus dos logros conseguidos en los años 2009 y 2011.

OceanStor N8500 es un producto clave dentro de la serie OceanStor N8000 de productos NAS, dirigidos a los mercados de nivel medio y de alta gama. Este producto dispone de la capacidad de procesamiento de archivos más rápida dentro de la industria, además de una capacidad excepcional de cumplir con los requisitos exigentes para rendimiento de almacenamiento en los entornos de grandes datos. OceanStor N8500 usa la tecnología de múltiples nodos All Active Cluster con todos los nodos de buscadores en la misma agrupación. Esto permite que los nodos funcionen de forma concurrente en el procesamiento de las transacciones y para acceder a un solo archivo al mismo tiempo. Además, el sistema OceanStor N8500 es compatible con un total de hasta 256 nombres de espacios, y cada uno de ellos es capaz de incluir 1.000 millones de archivos como máximo, lo que significa que la capacidad de almacenamiento total es de unos 100.000 millones de archivos. La última versión del sistema OceanStor N8500 es compatible con un máximo de 24 nodos de buscador, cuya capacidad de escalada permite el crecimiento linear del rendimiento del sistema. El nuevo OceanStor N8500 con nodos de 24 buscadores toma el liderazgo en la industria en términos de resultados para hacer historia dentro de las pruebas de rendimiento SPECsfs2008, con un rendimiento general que supera los 3 millones de operaciones por segundo (OPS) y rendimiento de un solo nodo que llega a los 125.000 OPS.

El resultado de este test de comparación SPECsfs2008 indica que al trabajar dentro de un hospedaje Linux/UNIX en el que se permite el NFS Protocol, Huawei OceanStor N8500 con 24 nodos de buscador puede generar hasta 3.064.602 OPS, duplicando el rendimiento del récord logrado con anterioridad.
