Bluegiga stellte heute sein neues Wireless System-on-Modul Bluegiga APx4 vor. Das APx4 ist ein drahtloses Niedrigstrom-System-on-Modul mit integriertem Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, ARM und Linux, das eine ideale Entwicklungsplattform für drahtlose Gateways bietet.

Das Bluegiga APx4 ist ein Kleinformfaktor-, Niedrigstrom-System-on-Modul mit den neuesten Drahtlos-Konnektivitäts-Standards: 802.11 b/g/n und Bluetooth 4.0. Das APx4 basiert auf der i.MX28-Prozessor-Familie von Freescale und führt ein eingebettetes Linux-Betriebssystem, basierend auf dem Yokto-Projekt [TM]. Neben dem integrierten 454 MHz ARM9-Prozessor, den Drahtlos-Konnektivitäts-Technologien und dem Betriebssystem Linux beinhaltet das APx4 auch mehrere eingebaute Anwendungen wie 802.11 und Bluetooth 4.0-Stacks, den mit Continua v.1.5 kompatiblen IEEE-Manager und vieles mehr. Diese Kombination bietet eine ideale Plattform für die Gestaltung von Multi-Funk-Drahtlos-Gateways, die eine schnelle Markteinführung und minimale F&E-Risiken ermöglichen.

Die Mainboards für das APx4 können leicht aufgestockt werden; sie können fast alles von 3G-Modems über das Ethernet und Audio-Schnittstellen bis hin zu Berührungsbildschirmen aufnehmen.
