LEAD Technologies freut sich, die Veröffentlichung von LEADTOOLS Version 18 bekannt geben zu können. Diese üppig ausgestattete neue Veröffentlichung kommt mit neuen nativen LEADTOOLS Anywhere™ Libraries für WinRT, iOS, OS X, Android und Linux, zusammen mit wichtigen Updates für Dokumenten-, Medizin- und Multimedia-Technologie von LEADTOOLS für Win32/64, .NET und HTML5.

LEADTOOLS Anywhere™ ist eine Erweiterung der preisgekrönten LEADTOOLS Imaging SDKs von LEAD Technologies auf jede größere Entwicklungsplattform. Diese Initiative hat im letzten Jahr mit der Veröffentlichung von SDKs für HTML5 und WinRT begonnen. Die HTML5 SDKs haben es ermöglicht, Web-Anwendungen mit Zero-Footprint zu entwickeln, und WinRT schaffte die nötige Grundlage, damit LEADTOOLS auf andere native Plattformen übertragen werden konnte. Mit LEADTOOLS 18 hat LEAD die Präsenz seiner Imaging SDKs durch das Angebot nativer Bibliotheken für die Entwicklung auf iOS, OS X, Android und Linux noch mehr erweitert. Die gesamte Imaging-Kerntechnologie von LEADTOOLS wird nativ in jeder dieser Plattformen unterstützt, darunter Ansehen, Anmerken und Markieren, OCR, OMR, Formularverarbeitung, 1D- und 2D-Barcode, PDF, DICOM und Support für über 150 Datenformate und 200 Bildverarbeitungsfunktionen.

Zusätzlich zur Übertragung seiner Imaging-Kerntechnologie auf neue Plattformen hat LEAD bedeutende Verbesserungen bei seinen bestehenden Dokumenten-, Medizin- und Multimedia-Laufzeitumgebungen vorgenommen. LEAD hat seine Produktlinie außerdem durch die Fusionierung diverser Produkte gestrafft. Infolgedessen verfügen die Basisprodukte jetzt über mehr Funktionen als je zuvor, und die effektiven Kosten von Entwickler-Arbeitsplätzen wurden deutlich reduziert. Noch besser ist, dass LEAD den Support für multiple Plattformen ohne zusätzliche Kosten für Entwickler-Arbeitsplätze in seine Basis-SDKs integriert. Auf diese Weise kommen bestehende Kunden in den Genuss sämtlicher Vorteile der neuen Funktionen und des plattformübergreifenden Supports allein durch den Ausbau ihres Entwicklerpostens.

Zu den wichtigen Verbesserungen für die Document-Gruppe in Version 18 zählen dramatische Verbesserungen von Geschwindigkeit und Genauigkeit der Advantage OCR Engine. Die in dieser neuen Version enthaltene Kombination von Funktionen wie mehrsprachigem Support, automatischer Spracherkennung und spezialisierter Bild-Vorverarbeitung für mobile Geräte findet man bei keinem anderen OCR SDK auf dem Markt. Die Barcode-Engines konnten von verbesserter Erkennungsgeschwindigkeit und Genauigkeit profitieren, und die PDF-Reader und -Writer wurden durch die Hinzunahme von vollständigem Support für Lesen, Bearbeiten und Schreiben nativer PDF-Anmerkungen verbessert.

Kunden, die Anwendungen für die medizinische Bildgebung entwickeln, sind sich der Bedeutung der Zero-Footprint-Bereitstellung für die Gesundheitsbranche durchaus bewusst. Der LEADTOOLS HTML5 Medical Viewer in Version 18 schließt weiterhin die Funktionslücke zwischen Web- und Desktopanwendungen.
