PLEASANTON, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 03/12/13 -- Percona, the company that makes MySQL faster and more reliable, today announced the full listing of the popular Birds of a Feather and Lightning Talk sessions to be held during the Tuesday and Wednesday evening networking and community receptions at the second annual Percona Live MySQL Conference and Expo 2013. Percona also published a new breakout session led by Facebook technical experts and announced that Tomas Ulin, Vice President of MySQL Engineering at Oracle will present a keynote and three Oracle MySQL technologists will present technical breakout sessions. Micron Technology, Virident, Rackspace, Twitter, Fusion-io and ScaleDB join an impressive list of industry leaders already committed to sponsoring this year's event.
The 2012 conference was widely regarded as one of the best MySQL-focused conferences in years. Birds of a Feather Sessions
Percona has published its list of Birds of a Feather sessions (BOFs), which will take place on Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. BOFs enable attendees with the same project or topic interests to enjoy some quality face time. Topics include "MySQL 5.6 Experiences," "SQL Injection Risks and Remedies," "Data Security - Emerging Legal Trends," and more.
Lightning Talks
Percona has also published the list of Lightning Talks, a series of five-minute speaking opportunities during which attendees will propose, explain, exhort, and rant on a variety of MySQL-related topics. The one-hour Lightning Talks session will take place at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday night during the Community Networking Reception. Topics include "MySQL Paradise," "Time Saving Technique for Changing Replication Masters," and "Shard No More."
