Cyan collabore avec Telefónica et Red Hat pour bâtir une architecture déterministe NFV

Cyan (NYSE : CYNI), l'un des principaux fournisseurs de solutions SDN (Software-defined Networking), NFV (Network Functions Virtualization) et de transport optique de paquets aux opérateurs de réseaux, a annoncé aujourd'hui sa collaboration avec Telefónica et Red Hat dans le but de bâtir une architecture de virtualisation des fonctions réseau (NFV) permettant de déployer de manière déterministe des fonctions réseau virtualisées (VNF, virtualized network functions). Cyan délivre l'orchestrateur NFV qui utilisera les améliorations apportées à OpenStack et développées par Red Hat en étroite collaboration avec Telefónica.

« Telefónica considère que la NFV une technologie clé et évolutive, » a expliqué Enrique Algaba, directeur de l'innovation réseau et de la virtualisation de l'unité CTO I+D-Global de Telefónica. « Nous pensons qu'une attribution déterministe de SCT, mémoire, E/S et de stockage adaptée au type spécifique de fonctions VNF réseau est indispensable pour obtenir les performances requises par les fonctions réseau telco. Cette nouvelle architecture déterministe transforme un centre de données générique en nuage en une structure Telco compatible avec la NFV. »

Le logiciel SDN Blue Planet de Cyan sera conçu grâce à OpenStack de Red Hat Enterprise Linux, pour orchestrer l'hébergement déterministe de fonctions réseau virtuelles par l'infrastructure du serveur afin de maximiser leurs performances.
