IRVINE, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 06/16/14 -- Solarflare, the leader in application-intelligent 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10GbE) networking software and hardware, today announced that Martin Porter, Vice President, UK Engineering, will be speaking at the Cloud World Forum on June 17, 2014. The panel will focus on optimising firms' infrastructure performance in the cloud computing environment and discuss the importance of security and end-to-end quality of services (QoS) for network performance.

The audience, made up of primarily of cloud end users, will learn what the infrastructure requirements consist of when developing cloud architecture for wireline and wireless internet MPLS and optical transport, as well as how to enhance the technological synergy between vendors and telecom cloud operators. In this talk, Porter will examine some emerging cases in which applications achieve near-native performance by leveraging the latest virtualization technologies such as SR-IOV, multiple PFs and VFs, PCI passthrough, and a preview of Linux containerization that clears a path toward more elegant integration of 10/40 Gigabit Ethernet, Linux and KVM into OpenStack Clouds.

The Cloud World Forum is EMEA's leading Cloud event with the industry's most comprehensive agenda of all things cloud. This year's forum will feature over 300 speakers participating in keynote presentations, hands-on labs, brainstorming sessions and live demos over the two-day conference, taking place in London.
