SYS-CON Events announced today that Jon Ferraiolo will serve as the Technical Chair for the International AJAXWorld ™ Conference & Expo 2007 West to take place on September 24-26, 2007, in Santa Clara, California. SYS-CON Media Group Publisher and Editorial Director Roger Strukhoff will serve as the Conference Chair for the event.Ferraiolo manages operations and leads many activities at the OpenAjax Alliance, an organization of leading vendors, open source projects, and companies using AJAX that are dedicated to the successful adoption of open and interoperable AJAX-based Web technologies. The prime objective is to accelerate customer success with AJAX by promoting a customer's ability to mix and match solutions from AJAX technology providers and by helping to drive the future of the AJAX ecosystem.

The alliance now has more than 80 members, including industry giants such as IBM, Microsoft, Google, Adobe, and Sun, along with AJAX vendors such as Dojo Foundation, Laszlo Systems, Nexaweb, Tibco and Zimbra. Among OpenAjax Alliance's current activities are the OpenAjax Hub which enables multiple Ajax runtimes to be used within the same application, the OpenAjax Registry which addresses JavaScript collision issues, and the IDE committee which is defining standard metadata for integrating AJAX toolkits into AJAX developer tools.
The 15 charter members - BEA, Borland, the Dojo Foundation, Eclipse Foundation, Google, IBM, Laszlo Systems, Mozilla Corporation, Novell, Openwave Systems, Oracle, Red Hat, Yahoo, Zend and Zimbra - continue to drive the OpenAjax debate as well, along with the dozens of companies that have joined the organization over the past year.
AJAXWorld Conference & Expo 2007 West recognizes that AJAX has moved well past its initial stage as simply a topic of interest among developers and architects, and is now firmly positioned as an essential ingredient in the creation of 21st century Web 2.0 Websites and Web environments. The world-beating conference program will provide developers, IT managers, and corporate decisionmakers with comprehensive information and insight into the biggest paradigm shift in Website design, development, and deployment since the invention of the World Wide Web. The next-generation user-centric Web is hurtling toward us and it is a rich-media future in which AJAX is positioned firmly at center stage.
"With nine simultaneous education tracks spread over three information-packed days plus the AJAXWorld University Bootcamp day, delegates will receive two weeks' worth of education, as speaker after speaker explores AJAX and RIAs in the greater context of the overall Web 2.0 spectrum," said conference chair Roger Strukhoff. "Delegates will also receive all conference sessions on SYS-CON.TV's popular Webcast DVDs, thus not missing a single session of this i-technology event of the year."
Early Bird Registrations Now Open
More than 8,000 delegates already attended the AJAXWorld conferences to date. Registration for the upcoming event, AJAXWorld Conference & Expo 2007 West, which will take place on September 23-26, 2007, in Santa Clara, Californa, is now open with early bird discounts.
