New York University College of Dentistry Renews VitalSource Contract

Nation's largest dental school commits to digital learning for six more years

RALEIGH, N.C., March 2 /PRNewswire/ -- VitalSource Technologies, Inc. announced today that the New York University College of Dentistry has renewed its contract to provide the VitalSource Curriculum for another six years. Under the terms of the renewal, Curriculum will continue to be mandated for all of the school's DDS students.

Students at NYU College of Dentistry have used VitalSource Curriculum for the past four years. When students enroll, their personal laptop is loaded with all of the textbooks for their four years of study. This curriculum offers a highly interactive way to learn. Professors and students can organize and search their materials -- even highlight and take notes in the text. Throughout the year textbooks can easily be updated with new editions, as necessary, and students can refresh their curriculum whenever they reconnect to the Internet.

"The VitalSource Curriculum is a wise investment in technology, one of the pillars of future education," said Dr. Andrew I. Spielman, Professor and Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at the College of Dentistry. "We believe that all textbooks will eventually be distributed digitally, and VitalSource's solution offers active learning capability and portability for students. Delivering all of our textbook material in this way is a win-win for the school, students, and faculty."

NYU School of Dentistry is one of 10 dental schools in the nation using VitalSource Curriculum. Other graduate programs that have adopted VitalSource include schools of law, pharmacy and nursing.

"We are thrilled to renew our commitment to New York University College of Dentistry, the largest dental school in North America," said Frank Daniels III, president and CEO of VitalSource. "We look forward to working with them for the next six years and beyond."
