Mainsoft Corporation announced that its C++ application
porting platform, Mainsoft for UNIX and Linux, Version 5.2 now supports five
new platforms, including the Intel Itanium 64-bit processor. Altogether,
independent software vendors (ISVs) can now port Visual Studio applications to
21 UNIX and Linux platforms.

“Mainsoft is proud to deliver significant business value
year-after-year to customers that have standardized on Visual C++, a powerful
and flexible development environment, and intend to pursue a cross-platform
development strategy for years to come,” added Cohen. “Marque customers
include ESRI, Mentor Graphics, Business Objects, Siebel Systems, and Cadence.”
