SOA Consortium and CIO Magazine Announce Judges for SOA Case Study Contest

Contest Open to Organizations In All Industries Including Government that Have Completed Successful SOA Projects

The SOA Consortium and CIO magazine have announced the expert panel of judges who will be reviewing entries to the Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) Case Study Contest. The contest is open to organizations of all sizes, including government agencies that have successfully delivered business or mission value using an SOA approach. For more information and to submit a case study, visit http://www.soa-consortium.org/contest_judges.

The goal of the SOA Case Study Contest is to highlight business success stories and lessons learned to provide proof points and insights for other organizations considering or pursuing SOA adoption. To qualify for the contest, the SOA project must be complete with demonstrated business results.

The judging panel consists of industry experts including:

  • Burt Covnot, Senior Vice President - Enterprise Architecture, Bank of America
  • Judith Hurwitz, President & CEO, Hurwitz & Associates, LLC
  • Brenda Michelson, Program Director, SOA Consortium and Principal Consultant, Elemental Links
  • Burc Oral, CTO & VP of Engineering, Cover4Me
  • Naresh Podila, Manager, Operations & Process Innovation, SDG Corporation
  • Esther Schindler, Senior Online Editor, CIO.com

Entries will be judged on the complexity of the business problem addressed, the ROI/Business Value achieved (Agility/Innovation/Flexibility), the level and sophistication of the cross-organizational collaboration (Business/Technical) and the usage of SOA approaches and supporting technology. In addition to one overall winner, organizations will be recognized by industry/government and project size/scope.

SOA Case Study Contest winners will be announced at the SOA Consortium meeting in Orlando, FL on September 24, 2008 and will be featured on the SOA Consortium website and in an October issue of CIO magazine. Submissions will be accepted through June 30, 2008. To submit your project to the SOA Case Study Contest and for full rules and guidance, visit http://www.soa-consortium.org/contest_judges.

Dr. Richard Mark Soley, chairman and CEO of OMG and executive director of the SOA Consortium, will keynote at SYS-CON's SOAWorld Conference & Expo, June 23-24, in New York City.
