Extentech announces an open source Java Alternative to Sharepoint and Google Docs, the 1.0 version of ExtenXLS 360, a document collaboration server for agile businesses. ExtenXLS 360 was created for corporate and SMB developers that need the flexibility and choice of a standards-based open source document automation system that can run on any platform without vendor lock-in.
E360 puts power and control developer's hands by offering an extensible and feature-rich web spreadsheet and CMS system. Built on the open source, standards-based JSP/Servlet web app, administrators can retain full control of their data by storing document information in the database of their choice.
The E360 CE server is offered as a free version and includes the GPLd Sheetster Web spreadsheet featuring collaboration tools such as real time document collaboration, document chat, and fine-grained role-based security and document sharing.
