NIST Releases the Last Draft of Its Findings Before Issuing Final Recommendations in June

KENT, WA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 05/05/05 -- Luna Technologies International, Inc. (OTC BB: LTII) highlights to shareholders the significance of the recent endorsement of photoluminescent (PL) safety products. In August 2002, the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) was mandated as the US Federal Investigators to determine the lessons learned in construction, egress, and response from the World Trade Center (WTC) disaster. From the multistage $20+ million study, one of the primary findings concerning egress was that "the most commonly mentioned forms of aid were assistance from coworkers and emergency responders and the photoluminescent markings in stairwells."

"As a leader in the photoluminescent industry, Luna has carefully reviewed the NIST study and praises it for the detailed investigation of the WTC disaster," said Kimberly Landry, Luna Technologies' CEO. She went on to say that "NIST's finding concerning PL as the most widely cited building feature to benefit egress by survivors is an important fact for code writers, architects, building owners and legislators to act upon when determining life safety requirements in buildings."

The building code community has also reacted positively to the release of the findings. The International Code Council (ICC) responded to the release with the statement, "The International Code Council will use its code development process to address building safety and fire prevention code issues raised in the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) findings from its World Trade Center investigation."

This study adds tremendous weight to the push for broad building code changes to mandate photoluminescent materials in buildings. The findings of this study add to an increasing body of evidence documenting the advantages of photoluminescent materials. More importantly, NIST has stated that it "will actively work with organizations and bodies designed to make appropriate changes to ensure that 'lessons learned' from the investigation are put to use."

We all love the many benefits of natural plant oils, used as a deap treatment before shampooing, at home or at the beach, but is there an all-in-one solution for everyday intensive nutrition and modern styling?I am passionate about the benefits of natural extracts with tried-and-tested results, which I have used to develop my own brand (lemon for its acid ph, wheat germ for its fortifying action…). I wanted a product which combined caring and styling effects, and which could be used after shampo...
