Vyatta Raises $10 Million in Series C Round Led by Citrix

Funding Enables Company to Accelerate Sales Growth and Expand Into New Markets

BELMONT, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 06/09/09 -- Vyatta, the leader in open networking and network virtualization, today announced it has completed its Series C round of financing led by Citrix Systems, Inc. The new funding round also includes existing investors, Comcast Interactive Capital, Panorama Capital, and ArrowPath Venture Partners. As part of the investment, Gordon Payne, senior vice president and general manager of the Delivery Systems Division at Citrix, has joined the Vyatta Board of Directors where he will assist the company in its next phase of development. Today, Vyatta also announced that it has joined the Citrix Ready(TM) product verification program to create solutions for customers deploying cloud computing infrastructures (http://www.vyatta.com/about/press_releases.php?id=60).

"We see a tremendous opportunity for Vyatta to deliver all the benefits of virtualization to the network," said Michael Cristinziano, vice president of strategic development for Citrix. "Citrix is committed to technologies that bring more choice, flexibility, and sensible economics to the market, and we are pleased to support Vyatta as it continues to expand and grow the market for open networking."

Vyatta will use the funds for operating capital as the company scales its sales efforts and accelerates growth across multiple markets.

"The addition of Citrix as an investor provides further validation of Vyatta's leadership in open networking and network virtualization," said Kelly Herrell, CEO of Vyatta. "Mission-critical networks around the world are already leveraging the tremendous economic and flexibility benefits of the Vyatta solution, and customer adoption continues to grow very rapidly. We look forward to building on our industry-leading position, accelerating our sales efforts and capitalizing on customers' appetite for networking solutions that bring unprecedented cost savings without sacrificing performance, capabilities, or reliability."

Vyatta runs on standard x86 hardware and can be virtualized with modern hypervisors, including the Citrix XenServer(TM) virtualization platform. Vyatta delivers a full set of networking features that allow customers to connect, protect, virtualize, and optimize their networks, improving performance, reducing costs, and increasing manageability and flexibility over proprietary networking solutions. Vyatta has been deployed by hundreds of customers world-wide in both virtual and non-virtual environments.
