The guy who couldn't get on with Red Hat after it acquired JBoss for $350 million has joined the advisory board of Appcelerator

The announcement follows Ben Sabrin, the first non-founder employee of JBoss, joining Appcelerator as VP of strategy and business development. Appcelerator CEO Jeff Haynie is quoted as saying about Fleury, "We believe the knowledge he developed building JBoss, to the point where it quickly became a true challenger to much larger competitors and a substantial industry force, will be invaluable to Appcelerator as we look to achieve similar dominance in our pursuit of the enterprise RIA development market." According to Fleury the company delivers cross-platform functionality on the server side, supporting the .NET, Java, Ruby or PHP architectures. On the client side, its RIA widgets are standards-based and portable across browsers. And, because it's "message-based, the underlying architecture allows for mock object-based client development, cleanly separating client and server-side development efforts."

JBoss founder and former CEO Marc Fleury, the guy who couldn't get on with Red Hat after it acquired JBoss for $350 million, has joined the advisory board of Appcelerator Inc, an Atlanta start-up doing open source software for cross-platform SOA-ready rapid rich Internet application (RIA) development.
