Open Source Collaboration Server Honored in LinuxWorld Magazine-Sponsored Awards

Open-Xchange Server Wins "Best Open Source Solution" at LinuxWorld Conference & Expo

 “It's an honor for us to see our efforts rewarded, and we share the credit with the open source community and our customers for their continued support," said Frank Hoberg, CEO, Open-Xchange Inc., as  Open-Xchange was yesterday awarded the LinuxWorld Product Excellence Award in the “Best Open Source Solution” category at an Awards ceremony at LinuxWorld Conference & Expo emceed by SYS-CON Media Group Publisher & Editorial Director Jeremy Geelan in the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center yesterday.

“This award recognizes the outstanding benefits customers realize using our Smart Collaboration platform,” Hoberg added. "Open-Xchange Inc. is committed to delivering the most feature rich, cost effective, open source collaboration platform.”

Open-Xchange Server 5, he explained, provides the tools to enable Smart Collaboration including, e-mail, calendaring, contacts and task management. It works with rich clients such as Microsoft Outlook as well as most browsers and mobile devices.

Open-Xchange Inc. is headquartered in Tarrytown, NY, with research & development and operations concentrated in Olpe and Nuremberg, Germany.

Another German-flavored triumph in the Awards was the openSuse project, a Novell-sponsored community initiative that promotes the use of Linux everywhere. That award was accepted from Geelan by Germany-based Michael Loffler, who is in charge of business development and marketing for the project and had flown in from Nuremberg for the occasion.
